Sermon NotesAs a part of the careful process of revising our Good Shepherd Statement of Faith together with you, the Elders plan to team-teach through each of the revised statements in our Winter Quarter, 9am Bible Class, beginning on January 4th in the sanctuary. This class will provide the opportunity for us to study and discuss more deeply the Scriptures that have shaped our statement. So come with your Bibles and we will journey through the Scriptures and delight together in the glory of our great God on display in these doctrines we gather around at Good Shepherd.

Sermon NotesEvangelism and the Sovereignty of God by J.I Packer.
If God is in control of everything, can Christians sit back and not bother to evangelize? Or does active evangelism imply that God is not really sovereign at all? Through a careful review of the Biblical material, Packer shows in this classic study how both of these attitudes are false.
“Far from inhibiting evangelism,” Packer writes, “faith in the sovereignty of God’s government and grace is the only thing that can give us the resilience that we need if we are to evangelize boldly and persistently.”
