Believer’s Baptism

Jesus established water baptism as a commitment opportunity for believers when He gave the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 and Mark 16:16. Water baptism is far more than a ritual or religious exercise. It is not only our personal choice, but it’s a command for believers to obey. Water baptism as a belivers is a public, outward declaration that reflects a personal, inward faith in and identification with Jesus Christ. It associates the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and signifies the believer’s death to the old life and his/her resurrection as a new creation in Christ. For more on believer’s baptism see Romans 6:1-8 and Colossians 2:12. If you are interested in being baptized as a believer, please email the church office at: goodshepherdbellingham.org.
