Sermon NotesJoin us Sunday, August 26th from 6-8pm as we watch the movie, Collision: Is Christianity Good for the World? This is a well-made documentary that follows atheist Christoper Hitchens and Pastor Doug Wilson in an on going conversation. This film is very helpful for believers to consider how to stand firm against the new atheism but love those who embrace it. It is also a great opportunity to invite an unsaved friend. Pastor Jeremy will lead a discussion after the movie. Please bring a snack to share.
On August 11th 10am-5pm at 709E Grover St. in Lynden (the Long sister’s home) a yard sale to help raise funds for Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Summer Missionaries will be held. Please contact Janel Gustafson for more information.
Safe in the Arms of God: Truth from Heaven About the Death of a Child
by John MacArthur
“I have sat by the grave of our daughter and son and wondered out loud if my belief that Hope and Gabriel are in heaven has any solid scriptural support. John MacArthur offers truth from God’s Word that puts the doubts of any grieving parent to rest. Safe in the Arms of God reveals that confidence of heaven for the child you love is based on much more than mere sentimentality; it is revealed in the Word of God and reflective of the very heart of God.” ―Nancy Guthrie, author of Holding On to Hope
You may order a copy for $12 in the Office or check out the book from the library.
